10 tips for things to do in Bangkok!

Sometimes it can be hard to get passed the crowd and go beyond the ordinary, to find all the hidden and unseen things i the big cities of Asia. But we have tried to give it a try, and want you to join in on 10 of the things Bangkok got to offer!

1: Khlong Lat Mayon Floating Market.

Maybe is it a bit overkill to call Khlong Lay Mayon a floating market, the canals here is very narrow, and the market is more at riverside filled up with small wooden houses, where you can purchase all kind of food and souvenirs. Non-less the market is not that touristic and if you love to go local markets this I defiantly a visit worth.

2: Terminal 21

We guess since you are going to Bangkok, you love travelling, but actually you don’t have to leave Bangkok, to get a small “taste” of the world. Terminal 21 is maybe “just” a shopping mall, but not like any other. The faced resembles an airport, and inside of it each floor will take you to a new destination. Who wouldn’t love to shop in London, Tokyo and a whole third place the same day?

3: Lumphini Park

Lumphini Park is Bangkoks answer to New Yorks Central Park. Escape the traffic and city stress and chill with the locals in green surroundings. Go early for a bit of morning tai chi. Go late for the public aerobic classes. Psst… It’s a great spot to watch Monitor Lizards !

4: Bang Krachao

Okay, Lumphini is a nice “get away” park, but if you want to experience even more green surroundings, combine with buddist temples; Bang Krachao is the place to go. The area has a lot of cycling paths, so get on a bike and enjoy your time away from busy Bangkok.

5: JJ Green Night Market

The grounds of ‘JJ Green’ are normally a parking lot and a community area with small stores. But Friday to Sunday the space is taken over by the power of untamed creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, in other words is an untamed Vintage Night Market, and perfect for the purpose of eaten, drinking combine with shopping stalls.

Its open in Weekends Nights only (Fri-Sun), from 17:00 to midnight and the vibe only gets better over the evening. St

6: Sky bar at Le Bua

Le Bua skybar is well known for being the sky bar where they filmed the Hangover 3 movie, and there is a reason for why they choose that skybar. With is 820 feet up in the air, is Le Bua one of the worlds highest sky bar, and gives you an amazing view over Bangkoks skyline. Be aware of the prices is not backpacker friendly and it can be very crowded with selfie sticks, but then again that view is outstanding!

7: River View Guest House

If you want to have the rooftop bar experience, but wanna keep it on a backpacker budget River View would be the answer. Hidden amog a lot of small alleys in Chinatown, you will find River View guest house, with the perfect view over Chao Phraya river.

8: The Jam Factory

A cross the river of Chao Praya you will find an old restored warehouse called the Jam Factory. The warehouse is a hip combination of Gallery, a store where you can purchase designs for the house, and a least but non-less the Restaurant “The Never Ending Summer” where local thai food can be enjoyed. You can easily spend a day at this place!

9: Uncle John’s

Hidden in small alleys you will find Uncle john’s, with an ambiance like a small street kitchen, a 5-star cuisine and prices just a bit over regular street food, Uncle John’s is on of the best places heading to, if you want a unique food experience!

10: Chinatown Bangkok

Almost every big city has a Chinatown and so do Bangkok! with its jungle of markets, lights, sounds, and bizarre street life is Chinatown a “must see” experience when your in Bangkok.
